Luke 3:1-18

John the Baptist came on the scene preaching a radically new message, “God wants more than for us to just BELIEVE, He’s looking for fruit”. Can there be a balance between having our ‘roots’ deep in the faith, while having our ‘fruits’ evident to this world?
Discussion Starters for Sermon Based Small Groups:
- Why was John the Baptist’s message different than what the people had been hearing?
- In verse 7, John called his audience a “Brood of vipers” and then asked a strange question, “Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” Why is this statement significant?
- What are some practical ways that you could show the world ‘fruit’ of the transformation that has happened in your life?
