The K.I.S.S. of Prayer: part one

Luke 11:1-2

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU DIG DEEPER

FOR YOUR FAMILY DEVOTIONS OR SMALL GROUP:

Recite a prayer you said as a child. What’s the funniest prayer you’e heard a child say?

What do you think motivates the disciples to ask about prayer at this point?

How do you usually pray? Do you have a set time? A set place? Or are you more spontaneous when you pray?

How can ‘meaningful repetition’ become ‘meaningless repetition’? How can we keep that from NOT happening?

Do you use anything to prepare your heart for prayer? Do you read a Psalm? A devotional? Do you sing/worship?

What concerns occupy most of your time in prayer: Praise? Confession? Petition (asking God for stuff)? Why? In which area do you want to grow in your prayer life?

Read Galatians 4:5-7 and Ephesians 1:4-5. Is it a special thought to you that you have been adopted? Why? Why not?
