QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU DIG DEEPER INTO LAST WEEK’S SERMON:
Talk about a time you had a ‘God-moment’ followed up, pretty closely, by a rough moment… when you ‘descended down the other side of the mountain‘.
What was most interesting to you from last week’s message?
Pastor Michael shared a story from his childhood where a woman suffering from an attack of the enemy showed up at his front door. Stories like that one seem crazy to us, why? Jesus said that “Satan has come to steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10), how do you think he accomplishes those things today?
Read 2 Corinthians 2:11. Why would it be important for Christians to ‘not be ignorant of Satan’s schemes‘?
Pastor Michael said that the enemy wants to ‘redirect our attention from Jesus… to anything else‘. Has he ever accomplished that in your life? How?
What would it look like to spend intimate time with the Lord, a ‘Kairos Moment’, and allow the Lord to empower you to be in the world, but not of the world?
Read 2 Corinthians 5:14. What is the one thing that should compel us to not only ascend the mountain for intimate God moments, but also to descend the mountain and live for God in a dark and evil climate?
The last verse of our text (Luke 9:43a) mentions Who should get the glory when we are able to persevere on the other side of the mountain. Talk about a way that that could happen, through your life, practically.
