What aspects of Jesus being a ‘Shepherd’ mean the most to you?
In verses 3-4 it mentions that a good shepherd ‘leads’ the sheep and ‘goes ahead of them’. Why is this important for a leader to understand?
Discuss the meaning of Jesus calling Himself ‘the Gate’ (or the ‘Door’ in some translations). Also discuss the significance of the word, ‘the’… not only here, but in John 14:6.
Pastor Michael talked about how the sheep (Jesus-followers) have a built-in ‘deception-detector’. Read 1 John 2:27 and discuss what this means and why it is so important for believers today.
Why does a ‘hired hand’ split the scene in verses 12-13? Have you ever experienced this?
