What Do You Want From Me?

Micah 6:8

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU DIG DEEPER INTO THE MAIN MESSAGE: ‘What Do You Want From Me?

Read Read Micah 6:6-8. Pastor Michael talked about the climate for the country of Israel in the days of the prophet Micah (approx. 740 BC). What are some of the correlations between those days and the days in which we live?

Micah says there are three things the Lord desires: To do Justly, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly with God.

What does it look like for a person today to ‘Do Justly‘? Is it harder when no one is looking? Read Hebrews 6:10 and discuss how God views this.

What does it mean to ‘Love Mercy‘? PMC stated that we often have two tendencies: First, when we are doing right, we can tend to look down on others and not be merciful. Can you think of a time when you’ve seen someone do that? Second, we can tend to lash out at those who’ve hurt us. Read Luke 6:35-38. What is God asking here?

What does it look like when someone ‘Walks Humbly with their God‘? Do you think a person that lives their life being ‘dependent’ is weak? Why? Read Proverbs 16:18. Ever had this verse lived out in your own life? Talk about it.

Jesus made following Him even simpler in Matthew 22:35-40. PMC said you could boil it down even further to one syllable: LOVE. Jesus exemplified this by ‘hanging’ on the Cross – how?

Read John 21:15-17. What do you think about the idea that Jesus will use messed up people who can’t even fully ‘LOVE’?
